Kohler Kitchen and Bath Products

The Kohler Company, a privately owned plumbing products manufacturer in Kohler, Wisconsin, has been providing high quality goods for residential and commercial kitchens and bathrooms since 1873. The company made its early name fabricating cast iron horse troughs, but entered the plumbing business in 1883 when founder John Michael Kohler developed a process for coating a cast iron tub with enamel. The enamel coatings made tubs suitable for personal use and the company has sold its trademark enamel-coated cast iron bathtubs ever since. Five years after the introduction of the company’s bathtub, the company developed its trademark “Bubbler,” the predecessor to the modern drinking fountain.

Today, Kohler is one of a handful of American manufacturers to still make traditional cast iron bathtubs. The company has frequently been named both “best quality” and “most used” among bath accessory manufacturers by The Builder magazine. Kohler offers both residential and commercial kitchen and bathroom fixtures, and will do custom work for a fee, including hand painted sinks and commodes. Kohler is also considered by many in the home construction and improvement industry to be a leader in innovation, craftsmanship and affordability.
